About Due

Built by people who've done the deals.

Due was founded on a deep understanding of deal complexity, due diligence, and the critical need for efficient project management tools in high-stakes M&A environments.

Julia Scott

Julia Scott is the Co-Founder and CEO of Due. Before founding Due, she spent nearly a decade as a corporate and M&A lawyer at some of the most respected firms and companies in Australia and the Asia-Pacific region.

She began her career at Bis Industries, advising on commercial contracts and strategic corporate transactions for tier-1 mining companies including Rio Tinto and BHP. She then moved to Gilbert + Tobin, a Chambers & Partners Band 1 ranked firm for Corporate/M&A in Asia-Pacific, where she spent four years drafting and negotiating asset and share purchase agreements, supervising due diligence investigations, and advising on public and private M&A transactions across energy, resources and infrastructure.

At Mitsui E&P Australia, Julia served as Legal Counsel and was selected as a secondee over candidates from Allens and Herbert Smith Freehills. There she led the negotiation of the $1 billion Waitsia gas project EPC contract and successfully managed the acquisition of Outback Carbon as part of Mitsui's broader clean energy strategy.

It was this front-line experience — the document chaos, the endless email chains, the missing files at critical moments — that convinced Julia the industry needed something better. She founded Due in 2022 to give business brokers, M&A advisors and their legal and accounting partners a workspace designed around how SMB deals actually get done.

Why we built Due

We know the problem because we lived it.

Every business sale involves hundreds of documents, dozens of stakeholders, and a ticking clock. Yet the tools available to brokers and advisors were either built for billion-dollar enterprise transactions — oversized and overpriced — or cobbled together from generic file-sharing apps that offer none of the structure, security or audit trail a deal demands.

Due was built to fill that gap. It is an all-in-one collaborative document review workspace that includes secure information sharing between buyers, sellers and specialist advisor teams; M&A project management; document review; and due diligence reporting — sized and priced for the SMB market.

Today, business brokers, M&A advisors, lawyers and accountants use Due to run every step from teaser to close in one secure platform. Because when you have done the deals yourself, you know exactly what the software needs to do.
